But capturing a great vocal is more than just buying a great mic and letting the singer rip. There represented as some key behind-the-scenes steps that take place in order to create that crystal clear, punchy, and vibrant vocal we all hear on the radio.

Do you identify with any of these statements?

My vocals sound lifeless and boring.

I can’t seem to get vocalists to deliver a great take in the studio.

I hate editing vocals because I can always “hear” my edits.

Pitch correction just scares me…I either over do it, or don’t do it right.

Compared to my backing tracks, my vocals sound amateur. Like they were obviously recorded at home.
